Issues

Counselling and psychotherapy can help with:

Anxiety
Worry, angst, feelings of concern, fear or dread.

Depression
Persistent low feelings, hopelessness, low self-esteem, worthlessness or despair.

Eating
Controlling food, anorexic or bulimic impulses or behaviours.

Anger
Being quick to anger, feeling furious about everything, irrational angry responses to everyday frustrations.

Bereavement
Grief, anger, denial and loneliness are some of the common responses to losing someone or something dear to you.

Obsessions
Intrusive repetitive thoughts, or urges to act with no obvious rational reason.

Phobias
Irrational fear of specific situations, people, activities or objects.

Panic Attacks
Exaggerated attacks of intense fear that something bad will happen when not expected.

Physical Health
Sometimes issues affecting your physical health (e.g. ulcers, high blood pressure, eczema) are caused partly or largely by emotional factors.

Loss
Loss can trigger all kinds of unexpected feelings such as shock, guilt and anger.

Trauma
Emotional and psychological trauma can be caused both by extraordinary events such as accidents or disasters or by the relentless stress of something like domestic violence or health problems.

Stress
Stress is a facet of many parts of modern life; what's important is to recognise when it might be affecting your mental or physical health.

Identity
Issues of racial, gender or sexual identity are often complex and can cause a great deal of anxiety and confusion.

Relationships
People often experience difficulties in relationships with a spouse, partner, parents, children, friends or work colleagues.

This list is far from comprehensive and often feelings one has can be brought on by a confusing combination of different factors.  Part of what I can do is to help you try to unpick these.
